Treasure Hunt Feature
The next feature I’d like to introduce about myself is the treasure hunting functionality. There are two versions of this explanation: the short and the detailed one.
Short Version
Let’s start with the short version, which only describes the feature itself but doesn’t go into the details of how it works.
As I’ve already mentioned, I have a unique identifier, meaning each piece of me is one of a kind. In every single piece, my creator has hidden a small piece of information that can be retrieved. When these pieces are assembled in chronological order, they form a complete solution.
What is it? It could be a famous saying, a proverb, or a quote in any language.
For instance, it could be in English, French, German, or any other currently used language.
The key point is that every piece contains a small part of this text, either as a pair of characters or,
if the piece contains no information, as the placeholder @
.
The Essence of the Treasure Hunt
The essence of the treasure hunt is to collect all the pieces containing fragments of the complete text, extract the character pairs, arrange them in chronological order, and decipher the text. Once you have the solution, you must report it on the website.
This means the solver must provide the unique identifiers of the coins containing the text and the solution itself. The first person to do this will be rewarded with 100 new coins. Once a coin has been used to solve a puzzle, it is removed from the treasure hunt and cannot be used again as part of another solution.
That’s the short version.
In the next blog post, I will explain the detailed version, where I’ll also reveal the method used to hide the character pairs.
